  1. A whale is any marine MAMMAL of the order 
  2. Cetacea, with front limbs modified into 
  3. flippers and with internal vestiges of hind 
  4. limbs. The order is divided into the toothed 
  5. whales (Odontoceti) and the baleen whales 
  6. (Mysticeti). The toothed whales include 
  7. dolphins and porpoises, along with large 
  8. forms such as sperm whales. The baleen 
  9. whales, with plates of modified mucous 
  10. membrane called baleen in the mouth, are all 
  11. large in size and include finback and right 
  12. whales.
